Universal University is the first private university for the creative industries in Russia to offer internationally facing creative education. There are two educational routes offered at the university — British undergraduate and graduate programmes and Russian Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programmes. The university encompasses ten schools that offer provision to more than 6000 students each year.
Since the foundation of its flagship school, the British Higher School of Art & Design in 2003, the university has been offering British undergraduate degree programmes in Art & Design, Business & Marketing, Music, Games, Film, TV & Animation, validated by the University of Hertfordshire, as well as undergraduate and graduate degree programmes in Architecture & Urbanism validated by London Metropolitan University.
Students enrolling onto the British undergraduate programmes are taught in English and typically undertake our one-year Foundation course before progressing onto one of the undergraduate programmes.
The university is based within an Art & Design hub called Artplay in the surrounding area of Kurskaya station which has become known as the creative quarter of Moscow. The Artplay Design Center contains the university complex along with a number of design showrooms, creative businesses, diners and exhibition spaces.
In 2021, Moscow ranked 4th in The World's 100 Best Cities ranking, compiled by the consulting company Resonance Consultancy based on tourist attractiveness, good living, working and business conditions. To work in Russia, international tutors need to obtain a work visa. Our staff will advise you on your application process whichever country you reside in.
